A Legacy of Excellence Since 1927
Founded by George M. Taylor in 1927, Taylor Oil began as a humble operation by selling gasoline from twin pumps and making deliveries with kerosene jugs from Tinker Town Road in Dover Plains, New York. George had the foresight to recognize the growing importance of oil as the preferred energy source, and as demand soared, so did Taylor Oil & Propane.
The Story of Our Success
As a leader with strong family values, George M. Taylor passed down his knowledge to his son, George T. Taylor, who helped expand the business by introducing home fuel oil delivery and service in 1947. Under his leadership, Taylor Oil continued to thrive.
Expansion and Innovation
In 1971, George T. Taylor’s son, Thomas A. Taylor, joined the business, further growing the company to offer a wide range of services, including HVAC installation, repair, and renovation for air conditioning, heating, water treatment systems, wells, plumbing, and air purification systems. With Thomas’s leadership, Taylor Oil continued to evolve to meet the changing needs of customers.
Four Generations of Family Legacy
Today, four generations later, Thomas’s sons—Mark, Daniel, and Kevin—continue the family legacy. In 2012, they launched Taylor Propane, offering full-service propane installations and home deliveries. Together, the Taylor family works to uphold the values of hard work, integrity, and commitment to customer satisfaction.
